Public Employees Conference 2009
The AFT Healthcare and AFT Public Employees Joint Conference 2009 was held in Washington D.C. from June 11-14, 2009 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. This year's theme was 'Fight for America's Future.'  Bruce Ludwig serves at the Chair of the AFT Public Emplyees Program and Policy Council.

AFT Public Employees 2005 National Conference

Alaska was given an award at the 2005 AFT conference.  It was in recognition of APEA's affiliation of the Totem Association of Education Support Personnel as well as a 10 year increase of approximately 70% through its bargaining unit enforcement process.

Alaska was co-host for the conference held in June at Reno, Nevada.  Thanks to contributions from our members, a variety of Alaska items were given to delegates from other states.  The hospitality room had smoked salmon, king crab and other Alaskan food.  21 of our delegates hosted the event and all wore their APEA/AFT  T-shirts.  Doris Tanner-Giusti deserves a big thank-you for all her help with the conference.
